FAQ regarding the show
This is a selection of questions that come regularly.
("FAQ" stand for Frequently Asked Questions).

Emerging Technology conferences is first a conference, then a trade show.
The level of professionalism in the organization is probably among the best in the industry.
Speakers and visitors seems always welcome to meet and share ideas with others.

This event is like a cereal "power bar", it is a boost to foster creativity between people of different backgrounds.

The whole event is organized by dedicated people taking care of visitors each time it is needed, so they will feel in a familiar environment and never wonder what they are doing there.
Person working for the event seems ready to find answers to questions before the question is even asked.
Speakers seem all of an excellent level and carefully "handpick" so a whole area of knowledge will be covered.

We are often asked many similar questions regarding our project, regardless the trade show or conference.
Parts of them can be found on the previous event (SCALE) we attended.

Clarification.
Some people seem confused about our remote controlled telescope project, more details are provided below.
The telescope presented at the show was a real telescope, however it was a work in progress. It is not ready for use yet. Part of it, specially the base, was a temporary part just so we can present a working telescope and for convenience of displaying it.

This telescope is a prototype, it is modular in construction, any part of it can be replaced easily by another one made of different material.
It is an evolving conception. At a later time one or more bigger telescope(s) can be added in the network.

The "real" base will be much more stable than the temporary one presented at the show. It will be on an equatorial base (aiming near the North star Polaris).
Here are images of a small scale of a rough telescope with an equatorial mount:

While this is not the first remote controlled telescope, this project is unique in more than one way.
It is handled by a group of volunteers wishing to learn and share with others, especially the younger ones.
Recycled materials are used as long as they qualify to have top properties in the case of a telescope, such as strength, temperature sensitivity, weather degradation, stability in time and many others.
The type of telescope and its mount are based on professional telescopes which have a reputation for accuracy, stability and longevity.

Images from the show floor

"Yvonne Romaine", "Conferences Sales Manager", has been our magic key to this wonderful event.
She took care of every little detail from before the show opened until after it close.
Her attitude has always been very professional.

Our booth was at the end of a row, which has been great for displaying the telescope safely.

Images from "Make fest"
One evening, the telescope has been moved to another room, for a special event called "Make Fest".
This seems to be like a reduced version of "Maker Faire" which is a much bigger event, currently presented in San Mateo California and Austin Texas.
This special evening was open to the public, well attended and also very well organized.

While still a student, James, was happy to join us for the show. He had a very positive attitude the whole show. He was helpful and dedicated.
